WHAT IS THE MISSION OF THE SMSAS?
The Show Me State Air Show is a weekend-long event celebrating current and former military members with the purpose of exposing Central Missourians to military and civilian aviation, hoping to inspire youth to pursue career fields in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (or STEM, for short!).  The organization strives to provide a positive, family-friendly event.

WHERE IS THE AIR SHOW LOCATED?

The Show Me State Air Show will take place at the Jefferson City Memorial Airport in Jefferson City, MO - September 14 & 15, 2024.  The address is 500 Airport Rd, Jefferson City, MO 65101
 

IS THERE EVENT PARKING?
Yes. All parking will take place in various lots on-site at the Jefferson City Memorial Airport and surrounding areas.  A parking map and instructions will be posted on our website and Facebook page as the event nears.

WHAT IF IT RAINS? IS THERE A RAIN DATE?

The air show will go on rain or shine; however, severe weather or low clouds may hinder some flying activities.

CAN I BRING BLANKETS AND CHAIRS TO SIT ON?

Yes!  Folding chairs and blankets are welcomed and encouraged.​

WHAT TIME DO THE GATES OPEN?

Gates open Saturday & Sunday at approximately 9:00am.

WHERE CAN I FIND AN AIR SHOW SCHEDULE?

For security reasons, we are unable to provide individual performer start times. All acts are subject to change sometimes with little to no notice.  The aerial demonstrations and performances will begin at 11:00 am and last approximately two hours.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO THE EVENT?

Attendees are welcome to bring collapsible or folding chairs, cameras, blankets, umbrellas (small not to block the view of others), baby strollers, diaper bags for small children, strollers, and small personal items. All items will be subject to search.

WHAT SHOULD I NOT BRING TO THE EVENT?

Illegal substances, coolers, glass containers, skateboards, scooters, or personal motorized vehicles, lasers, bicycles, carts, fireworks, toy guns, water guns, helium balloons, non-collapsible chairs, popup tents, pets (except for service animals), drones or remote control aircraft, and aerosol containers are not permitted within the event grounds. Unauthorized solicitations, handbills, sampling or giveaways, or unauthorized vending is also not allowed and will be enforced by local law enforcement.

 

CAN I BRING OR FLY MY DRONE?

No. A flight restriction has been put into place for this event. No drones are allowed anywhere in or near the event or within 5 nautical miles of the airport per the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Violators face confiscation and up to a $230,000 fine. This will be strictly enforced.

ARE PETS ALLOWED?

For the safety of all patrons, pets are not allowed within the event grounds except for approved and documented service animals.

ARE THERE ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN?

Yes!  There are various family friendly activities for children of all ages. There will be no shortage of things to see and do both in the air and on the ground.
 

IS THE EVENT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE?

The majority of the tarmac is wheelchair accessible, however some displays and areas may be difficult to reach (i.e. grass).

WILL THERE BE A STATIC DISPLAY?

Yes, a variety of civilian and military aircraft will be on static display throughout the weekend.

IS THERE A LIVE STREAM OF THE SHOW?

No. There is no live streaming planned for the event.  Please be cautious when interacting with fraudulent social media posts, especially when links ask for personal information and credit card details.  The Show Me State Air Show can only be seen by attending in-person.

CAN I FLY MY PERSONAL PLANE TO THE EVENT?

Yes, but please be aware of the NOTAM and TFR published for the closure of the airport during the formal flying display.  We recommend contacting the FBO operator, Jefferson City Flying Service, for information about flying into the event throughout the weekend.
